ITB Berlin BookAwards: The current book list on the theme of "Sustainable Responsibility"
In support of the urgent call from prominent scientists, environmental activists, and individuals to all global stakeholders to urgently address climate and environmental issues with their dire consequences, an extensive, selectively themed list of titles for background knowledge on the broad societal discourse surrounding the "Sustainable Responsibility" theme has been compiled during the research for the ITB BookAwards since early 2021 and has been annually supplemented since – following the lead of ZEIT Wissen editor Fritz Habekuß, who emphasizes the importance of science for political action. According to him, it is time for us to "learn to take the whole into consideration. While the climate crisis only threatens how we live, the loss of biodiversity raises the question of whether we survive."
