ITB Berlin videocast: All eyes on sustainability

Only a few weeks to go for the next edition of ITB Berlin. Parallel with this event, the world-renowned ITB Berlin Convention will be taking place again. Taking as its slogan Pioneer the Transition in Travel & in Tourism Together, it will explore the most pressing topics and challenges facing the global travel industry. Sustainability is of course a key topic, which is why it will occupy its own theme track again.

In the latest episode of our TravelHero podcast, which this time is a videocast resembling a webinar, we focus on sustainability. Prof. Dr. Karoline Wiegerink, Prof. Dr. Harald Pechlaner and Prof. Dr. Willy Legrand offer fascinating insights into the topic, setting the tone for the ITB Berlin Convention. Charlotte Lamp-Davies from A Bright Approach is the moderator of the event.

All three are curators of the convention programme at the show, and in each case sustainability has played an important part in their careers. In this latest episode of the Travel Hero Podcast, both the moderator and guests debate whether the ’together’ in the convention slogan is ultimately key to success.

They also discuss whether net zero is still a realistic goal, why around the world sustainability targets are only gradually being met, and what concrete steps industry actors in the hospitality sector for example can undertake to make a difference. The guests also dare to look into the future and the year 2045, thereby offering a fascinating preview of the convention programme that awaits visitors in March.
